The gist

Use Kitchenote to save and organize recipes. Don't use it for anything illegal or harmful. Don't try to break it. That's pretty much it. Here are the full terms if you need them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kitchenote ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kitchenote is a recipe management application that allows you to save, organize, and cook from recipes. The App extracts recipe content from websites for your personal, non-commercial use.

3. Your Use of the App

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the App
  • Not use the App to infringe on others' intellectual property rights
  • Not attempt to access systems or data you're not authorized to access
  • Not use the App to collect data about other users

4. Content and Copyright

Your content: You retain ownership of any recipes you create or import. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service (e.g., displaying your recipes in the App).

Third-party content: Recipes you import from websites may be protected by copyright. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and the source website's terms. The App is intended for personal use only—don't redistribute recipes commercially.

Our content: The App's design, code, and original content are owned by us and protected by copyright. You may not copy or redistribute these without permission.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DON'T GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The App will always be available or error-free
  • Recipe imports will always be accurate or complete
  • The App will meet your specific requirements
  • Any defects will be corrected

We do our best to make Kitchenote reliable and useful, but software is complicated and things can go wrong.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

In plain English: if something goes wrong with the App, we're not responsible for consequences like a failed dinner party because a recipe didn't import correctly. Use common sense and verify recipes before cooking.

7. Food Safety

The App imports and displays recipes but doesn't verify their safety or accuracy. You are responsible for ensuring food is properly prepared and cooked. When in doubt, consult reliable food safety resources.

8. Changes to the App

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We'll try to give notice for significant changes, but we're not obligated to maintain any specific feature.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, though we'll try to warn you first unless the violation is serious.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
